H.E. Ambassador Giovanni Xuereb (Malta) and H.E. Ambassador Nives Malenica (Croatia) visit SatCen

On 15 July, H. E. Giovanni Xuereb, Ambassador of Malta in Spain, and H.E. Ambassador Nives Malenica, Ambassador of Croatia in Spain, visited SatCen for a briefing on the agency's mission and its unique geospatial capabilities.


They were welcomed by the Centre’s Director Amb. Sorin Ducaru, Deputy Director Giuseppe D’Amico, and the Operations Manager Marcello Moretti.


Amb. Ducaru provided an introduction to SatCen activities and governance, also covering the Centre’s strategic development perspective.


The Director presented the Operations Division area where imagery analysts informed about their work, covering the various areas of activity exploited by the Centre. The briefing included services for humanitarian aid and crisis management activities as well as support to EU missions & operations and international organisations, and products delivered as part of the Copernicus Service in Support to EU External Action.


Amb. Ducaru also explained how SatCen had continued to provide a full scope of geospatial intelligence services under the challenging COVID-19 conditions.
