Director Ducaru on panel at “BLACK SEA AND BALKANS SECURITY FORUM 2020”
On 4 September, the SatCen Director Sorin Ducaru participated in the “BLACK SEA AND BALKANS SECURITY FORUM 2020” in Bucharest.
Ambassador Ducaru discussed on stage with the Romanian Prime Minister Ludovic Orban the importance of European and transatlantic solidarity and unity to support internal and external security in Europe and its Black Sea - Balkans neighbourhood.
Furthermore, the Director provided a briefing during the panel on "Space: Cooperation, Rivalry or Confrontation?"
Mr Ducaru presented the unique SatCen role in supporting security from space through its geospatial analysis services, and security for space through its role in support to the EU Space Surveillance and Tracking consortium.
While in Bucharest, the SatCen Director also held meetings with the president of the Romanian Space Agency and the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defence.
